EFSC Planetarium and Observatory

The Eastern Florida State College Planetarium and Observatory is one of the key attractions for those interested in space, the planets, and science in general.  First opened in 1975, the EFSCP&O is nationally recognized as one of the best planetariums in the country.

The stunning Star Theater and Discovery Movie Theater use laser shows to wow the many students who take field trips to the center.  In addition, they show specialized movies about space and the planets on equipment designed to be as immersive as possible.

The rooftop observatory houses one of the largest telescopes in the state.  Visitors can use this spectacular piece of equipment to peer into the skies and look at the moon and other planets in our solar system.  On particularly clear nights, visitors can view nebulas, clusters of stars, and even other galaxies!

In the Science Quest Exhibit Hall visitors can peruse the numerous science exhibits.  An art gallery containing art related to space, and a great gift shop complete the package.  With too many shows and events to list, all we can say is check out the website to really get a feel for all the options available at this wonderful—and educational—attraction.
